Newfield - New House & Swimming PoolThis project offered a rare opportunity to design a truly grand house with a large indoor pool building set in a beautiful landscaped setting. Our clients did not want a modern design or a reproduction of a traditional jersey farmhouse so we proposed this neo-Palladian design.
The adjoining swimming pool is designed as a contemporary interpretation of a traditional open-sided granite barn and the whole composition is intended to evoke the archetype of Tuscan hilltop villas |
Various ExtensionsThis is just a selection of the many small extensions and alterations we have completed over the years for private clients.

Vinchelez de Bas ManorWe were appointed to carry out a complete restoration of this SSI-listed Georgian manor house and to construct new side wings and a grand conservatory to upgrade its facilities to modern standards. We also redesigned the gardens and replaced existing modern outbuildings with new granite and timber-framed buildings.
Our pre-contract investigations revealed serious defects in the existing construction due to long-term water ingress and much of our work involved extensive detailing of all reconstruction work including a new lead clad roofs, sash windows, lime render and dressed stonework. Internally little remained of the building’s original fabric and we therefore prepared details for the installation of a historically appropriate interior. These were based upon extensive architectural research and included functional window shutters, custom joinery, cornices and decorative plasterwork and stone floors. The end result is a totally unique Jersey family house of exceptional quality and design integrity. |
Dairy Farm - Barn ConversionThis project involved conversion of two derelict farm outbuildings in St. Mary into 4 separate living units.
The buildings were listed but in such an advanced state of decay that only the external granite walls were capable of being retained and repaired. All other parts of the building were replaced. We retained, and adapted our plans around, the existing window openings and, in keeping with local tradition, finished the windows and gutters in 'Oxblood Red' to achieve an authentic heritage appearance. |
3 Craigie Gardens - New HouseThis house was a replacement for an existing dilapidated bungalow built on a old railway embankment. The old house had suffered from subsidence due to the large depth of made-up ground and so the new house was constructed on deep piles with interlocking ground beams.
Although it is quite a large 4 bed house it has been designed to look much smaller by using adopting the format of a dormer bungalow with a deep plan. The finished design is reminiscent of the typical simple fisherman's cottages which can be found dotted along the south coast of Jersey. |
Maison de la Ville Bagot - Extension to SSiThis project was a large extension to an SSi-listed house in St. Ouen to create light and spacious living areas as a contrast to the cosy but rather dark, low-ceilinged rooms within the old house.
We retained remnants of an existing dower wing and extended this in a contemporary manner using granite sourced from France to match the colour of the unusual Chausey granite of the existing house. The new works included a large lean-to sunroom, basement snooker room, outdoor pool and landscaping works. |
Rock House - Renovation & Remodelling of an Existing HouseOur clients purchased this house which, although rather ugly, was in an excellent location with fantastic sea and castle views, and they engaged us to refurbish and remodel the exterior to transform its appearance.
The interior layout was completely reconfigured, incorporating an integral garage into the house, and sections of the external walls were rebuilt with new window openings. We then overclad the whole of the exterior using 'Hardiplank' sidings to achieve a much more appealing seaside style and added a new balcony to provide visual relief to what would otherwise have been a very dull and badly proportioned entrance elevation. |
